16:9 Dissections is still images captured from adult films and cropped (16:9 format) to alter the image. Meanings are construed, context is shifted.

The essence of the sex act and at times degradation still exist together with tenderness and closeness. Lovers appear as friends. Sex acts become abstracted flesh-scapes. Mouths open, legs flail. The in between moments shine, setup scenery showing where the subsequent sex scene will be taking place becomes a landscape. As the digitised video pops, skips and staggers each blip is captured and becomes part of the image.

The titillating elements are mostly out of shot but the sexuality is present.

Cropping was generally done so as to avoid the sex directly unless it was able to become an integral part. With the images that avoid the direct sex act, the semen, the pussy, the erection, the money shot, the viewer is very much aware of them, they seep from the periphery tainting the image.
